On the penultimate weekend of the summer holidays, Nestville Park in Hniezdne came alive.
It became a place celebrating the work of farmers and craftsmen. It brought together agricultural workers, artisans, and visitors in a unique atmosphere. The event Farmer – Traditions and Customs offered visitors a unique atmosphere filled with the aromas of artisanal specialties, freshly cut grass, traditional music, competitions, and cheerful laughter.
A celebration of farmers’ work, craftsmanship, and traditions
The Nestville Rodeo Show drew the biggest attention. It delivered an incredible dose of adrenaline, suspense, and indescribable energy.
Rodeo riders on spirited horses showcased their courage and mastery in the saddle. They raced through the arena as the audience watched every move with bated breath. The air filled with the pounding of hooves and the murmur of the crowd. It erupted into thunderous applause with every successful maneuver.
Even more tension came with the wild discipline of Nestville Bull Riding — riding raging bulls.
Each jump of these several-ton animals felt like a duel between man and nature. Every second on their backs was a small miracle, sparking excitement and waves of emotion. A bull rider’s fall before the legendary eight seconds marked a hard defeat. Yet the riders’ bravery earned the admiration of everyone present.
Victories were celebrated as great triumphs, while defeats turned into legends, creating an unrepeatable, true Wild West rodeo atmosphere full of suspense, joy, respect, and unforgettable experiences.
Competitions full of laughter and friendly rivalry
The program also included the second edition of the Nestville Park Pitchfork Throwing Championship, where strong men and daring women competed for the champion’s title. New to the event were the Slovak Championships in Drinking Žinčica (traditional sheep whey), which amused the audience and brought many unexpected moments. Visitors could also enjoy contests in eating bryndza cheese, pulling threads, milking, or performing the traditional Slovak odzemok dance jumps. Each discipline brought laughter and a spirit of joyful rivalry.
Animal exhibitions and an authentic rural atmosphere
The event was enriched with animal exhibitions, where breeders presented the best of what their farms have to offer. Children and adults alike admired horses, sheep, goats, cows, calves, and many other animals that are part of our rural life. The harvest festival at Nestville Park gave the whole weekend a symbolic meaning of gratitude for the crops that our farmers work so hard to bring in every day.
The farmer’s celebration was not only about competitions and exhibitions. Music, singing, and laughter filled the grounds, as people had fun, danced, and enjoyed a true village atmosphere.
Farmer – Traditions and Customs at Nestville Park once again showed that the power of traditions, determination, and the joy of coming together can create unforgettable moments.
